How does Juvéderm Work?
Juvederm® is an injectable treatment that restores volume lost due to the aging process. Juvéderm® targets fine lines and wrinkles and restores lost volume in facial tissue, including your cheeks, lips, and around your eyes. The non-surgical correction technique uses hyaluronic acid to fill in creases and help restore a smooth, more youthful appearance. Thanks to Juvéderm’s active ingredient, hyaluronic acid, wrinkles are smoothed away, and volume is restored in tissue.
What to expect with Juvéderm?
Expect the Juvéderm treatment to be simple and painless. After your initial consultation with Dr. Anna, she will mark the areas that need correction and create an individualized treatment plan for you. The Juvéderm dermal filler is then injected into the target areas. Next, the areas are lightly massaged for a while to ensure the content of the injections are evenly distributed under the skin.
This procedure can last anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour, depending on the number of areas treated. Following the procedure, you can expect mild swelling or bruising for about 2-3 days.
Juvéderm treatment is minimally invasive, pain-free (thanks to the lidocaine in the gel), and is, on the whole, a very comfortable procedure. However, you might experience some mild side effects for a few days after the treatment.
Treatments are temporary and your results will last up to two years. Side effects that may occur after Juvéderm treatment include slight swelling, redness, bruising, and pain at the injection site. These side effects typically disappear within two weeks. You will be advised not to apply makeup, sun exposure, or consume alcohol for 24 hours after Juvéderm injection.
